About Zaber Technologies Inc.

How Zaber Got its Start

Zaber Technologies was founded in 1997 by a group of friends with diverse interests and knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, programming, and physics.

Back then, precision linear actuators all used DC motors with gearbox and encoders, and they required complicated motion control cards, bulky controllers, separate driver amplifiers, and special power supplies. Precision motion control was expensive, difficult to set up, and cumbersome to use.

Zaber's founders recognized the need for an inexpensive, integrated solution for motion control. They wanted to make motion control products that were easy to set up and ready to use right out of the box, so they created the world's first precision linear actuator with a built-in controller. It was based on a stepper motor instead of a DC motor, gearbox, and encoder combination. The integration of all control and drive electronics in the same package became the foundation of Zaber's ever-expanding T-Series product line.

Zaber Today

Since the introduction of the T-LA28, we have expanded the T-Series family to over 100 motion control products, which are distributed worldwide.

Researchers, engineers, distributors, system integrators, and OEMs have come to appreciate our innovative products and the excellent support that we provide.

We continue to advance our in-house manufacturing processes allowing us to build, test and ship most of our products within 3-5 days.

Zaber Tomorrow

Coming Soon (in about 24 hours)!

Original Miniature Motorized Actuator

Zaber's original T-LA28 linear actuator is the world's first with built-in controller.

Current Miniature Motorized Actuator

Zaber's current T-LA28A linear actuator. Faster, stronger, more intelligent and reliable -- yet still backwards compatible.

Stepper Motor Motion Control Algorithm

Our advanced built-in controllers are capable of pre-emptive moves and deterministic motion profiles.

Manufacturing Motorized Stages

We design and manufacture our products in-house, ensuring the highest quality and reliability.
